i too, have fallen for their "cheap price" scam - a Cannon A650IS for about $100 less than ANYONE else was selling them for (i should have known). i placed the order with no problem, but there was no confirmation copy of my order(!) as soon as i placed the order on their web site, the "sales receipt" vanished from the screen and i was left with a message that a confirmation e-mail would be sent.
the e-mail was a notification that i had to call them back to actually confirm the order - no record of my transaction. i called back, and "Steve" tried to sell me a couple of expensive extras, like chargers, batteries and an extended service plan (for about $100 just for the plan). our conversation was pleasant, no harassment. i did not order any extras.
almost instantly after hanging up the phone, i received an e-mail stating that they were "really sorry", but in between the microseconds that i said "no" to any add-ons and the time that i hung up, the warehouse had instantly run out of stock and my order was placed on backorder. after 1 month, i checked back - my order was canceled without anyone notifying me.
really, its a lesson to me to be more aware on the "interwebs"
