Saw the new rate at the login window and the new rate is also reflected in the account information. ING is MATCHING its rate with other competitors!!!!

Netbank 3.04%
hsbc 3.25%
ed 3.5%
Presidential 3.5% (requires monthly direct deposit $200 min)

Now Netbank is 3.03%?! WTF?!

CHEAP bleeping bleeps can't even match Emig? It's only 0.1% you clowns!

I bet my 0.01 is happier.

Unfortunately, unlike everyone else I don't have the required minium of $5000 to open an account at other banks. So I'm happy with anything I can get from ING.

Just as others have said... too little too late.

LOL , thats making a statement! think I'll do that with ED shortly.

I have a question.. forgive me if it is really stupid. But does 3.15% apply for the whole year or for each month?
For example if i had a savings account with a $100,000 would I make 3,150 in interest every month or every year?

LOFL it sure would be nice to make that in a month. its APY, annual percentage yield

And to think that I just pulled out all of my money from ING today (when the website still said 3.00%). Oh well, a little too late. Of course, I still have $20 in referral bonuses stuck there, so at least it will earn a bit more before I move that too in a few weeks.

After about two years of playing in the "little league" at ING with about $10K or $20K of savings, just got my fat check from escrow company from my home sale this month. I put the liquid portion of that, split half and half between Emig Direct and Wilmington Trust, just last week to stay within FDIC limits. Too bad ING didn't keep up with the market ... they could've had a BIG piece of the action.

agree, too little too late

i would guess 3.25%, sooooooooo dissappointed though i only have $100 at ING and $0.49 at ED, all others go to presidential

alert mods

Well, I for one appreciate the increase. I have a good chunk of my money in ED, but I like the ING interface because it's easy to set up multiple accounts and joint accounts. For the amount of money I have in savings, the effective amount I'm losing in interest is worth it to me.

[Edited for spelling error]

Those guys are paying 4% for a money market account, with $25k minimum.
