HSBC $25 for opening OnlineSavings Account at 3.75% APY Archived From: Finance

I received an insert in a mailer from HSBC what gives a $25.00 bonus when you open their OnlineSavings account at 3.75%. The expiration shown on my mailer is Ocotber 31; but the website shows September 30.

Here are the basic features of the account...

*Free HSBC ATM withdrawals and deposits
*Easy access to your account online anytime
*No monthly fees
*No minimum term
*Open an account with as little as $1

Bonus Disclosure...
Limit one $25 bonus per customer. OnlineSavings Account must remain open until bonus is credited or bonus will be forfeited. The $25 bonus will be deposited to the OnlineSavings Account within 45 days following account opening. Offer expires 11:59:59 PM ET September 30, 2005, is subject to change and cannot be combined with any other promotional offers. $25 bonus is considered taxable income and will be reported on IRS form 1099.

HSBC has free ACH transfers in and out of the account. They call it "Bank to bank transfers". No limit on # of incoming transfers, max 6 outgoing transfers because it's MMA.
You need to have your debit card in order to signup for transfers.

I don't know this hasn't been included in the thread summary before, $35 bonus for code ccs20. Here's a link

Cons: The external bank transfer feature is painfully slow because they put the incoming funds in the "pending" category for more days than other banks.

Careful...

Is there any fee to transfer from HSBC to the linked checking account ? Is there a hard inquiry to open this saving account ?

Promo code is populated automatically when you start the application.
