their site says that checking requires a monthly direct deposit of salary or social security...otherwise, $4 service charge...

any idea about how long you need to keep the account open in order to not get hit w/ fees or get the $$ taken back?

Sounds like a good deal if we can find out from anyone if there is a hard pull and how long we have to keep funds in the account... I could pay a few bills for a couple months and not have the maintenance fees, but if its too long it may not be worth it.

Not offered in NY? I put "Other" when they asked where I was from and have been unable to locate the checking account offer at all.
