Heeeeere we go: BofA Biz

Transaction Date: 07/24/07
Transaction Amount: $34,500.00
Transaction Description: BALANCE TRANSFER

Transaction Date: 07/25/07
Transaction Amount: $1,035.00
Transaction Description: ***FINANCE CHARGE***CASH

Last Refresh Date: 07/26/07
Current Balance: $35,535.00
Credit Limit: $34,500.00

You really cannot trust a word of what the BofA Biz CSRs say! And I don't have the fricking card here with me right now, so I can't call until tonight.

Didn't I say this would be a ClusterF$%k?

alert mods

I don't see any expiration information on it. Are these two offers still available? Thanks.

I think it is almost a given they'll slap on the fee by default with this card - there is apparently a mistake in their system but you should have no problem getting it reversed. I had the same issue for my new BOA biz card, and even after calling in to get a credit for my first transfer fee, I did another transfer a few weeks later and sure enough another giant 3% fee on my statement that I had to call and get reversed.

jairocon said:FNBO shows a $34.5k deposit from FIA card services with yesterday's date - so the BofA Biz BT went through! Nothing shows on my BofA Biz statement, even the available balance is still $34.5k.

Yesterday I also re-allocated my personal BofA lines getting almost $38k line and leaving $500 CL on the rest of them. Then I asked for the full $38k BT into FNBO, hopefully there will be no problems with it.

I still need to BT from National City personal line, BT the rest of Juniper's line and decide whether to BT CitiBiz or wait a few months. Oh and Suntrust also, I can wait a few months for that one.

Maybe I'll try a CL re-allocation from my Citi Dividend to CitiBiz and just go for that BT right away.
jairocon, nice writeup and updates on your successful 2nd AOR!

When you have a moment, will you clarify how you got BofA to BT to FNBO Direct? Did you just give them routing and account numbers? Seems they didn't want to send money there for me as it was a "savings" account, but I was working with the personal credit CSRs, not business. I ended up having to go through two other financial institutions and lost a few days of potential interest.

And my 10k starpoints posted today as well!

Is this a result of your 06/19/2007 application? Wow, a check in just one month!.. Those Starwood points are good, 9500 of them buys you a $100 Amazon.com giftcard (not sure if one can convert the remaining 500 into miles though).

OR 9500 starwood points will get you 3 nites hotel stays. Certainly a better value than a $100 Amazon card.

My $37.8k BT I requested from BofA on Tuesday showed up in FNBO on Thursday! Awesome!

What's not awesome was the BofA paybyphone payment that I submitted on Monday to be paid from FNBO was somehow denied/returned unpaid and a $39 fee was charged. And I can't get it resolved with FNBO over the weekend, because their fulfillment dept. only works on weekdays. I've paid my Bofa cc with FNBO number of times before - so it's very surprising...

RE: How to get BofA to BT into FNBO - just give them the account numbers and pretend it's a checking account - they have no way of knowing.

Could it be that you've exceeded some sort of monthly limit of transactions (withdrawals?) at FNBO? Regardless of the reason -- aren't you in deep trouble now with the current AOR b/c "your payment to a credit card was not honored"? Or was it not a payment to a cc that FNBO did not release?

Regardless of the reason -- aren't you in deep trouble now with the current AOR b/c "your payment to a credit card was not honored"? Or was it not a payment to a cc that FNBO did not release? This would have been my first withdrawal this month from FNBO, so no I wouldn't have been over the transaction limit. Also as it was a relatively small payment (less than $2k) and I had well over 100k in FNBO's available balance, it wouldn't have been that I didn't have the money available. I can't find any helpful person at FNBO over the weekend, so I have to wait until Monday. The helpful person at BofA (ex-MBNA) told me she's going to reverse the $39 returned check fee and told me it shouldn't affect the 0% balances, which are on another BofA's card... then again this is BofA and my ClusterF$%k continues to gather major proportions. Another blow is that having the payment returned unpaid puts me over the limit on the MBNA card, as I have re-allocated all of its CL and left only $500 available. As I say - it will be an interesting Monday.

I was also charged a $39 return fee by BofA for a cc payment from FNBOdirect using the myeasypayment.com site. This was my first time using FNBO. It was only my second withdrawal for the month, and I also have much more than the withdrawal amount at FNBO. How were you able to ask BofA to reverse the charge if FNBO is not willing to release payment? It is technically not a checking account so if FNBO doesn't want to release funds then we're pretty much at their mercy.

And if FNBO doesn't cooperate to release funds, how do we stop BofA from charging the return fee twice in their automatic attempt to run the payment through again?

I guess the lady I dealt with was very nice and she was the one who offered the $39 reversal - then again I won't believe it until I see it on my statement.

What irks me about FNBO is that just last month on 6/28 I made a $31k pmt using myeasypayment site and that went through without a glitch!

alert mods

Here's a crazy theory. The FNBO account doesn't allow checks, right? Maybe the myeasypayment is actually generated "check" transactions, so even if they are being processed through ACH, they're being rejected becuase they're checks. I haven't used either of these products though, but this is more likely with a pay by phone than with a web transaction.

When you use easypayment, does a check number appear on the transaction?

markkundinger said:When you use easypayment, does a check number appear on the transaction?Nope - it's a regular ACH pull.

So this BofA/FNBO mess has really no solution as FNBO claims they have no record of any BofA payment requests coming in and that my FNBO account was never "on hold" and it had plenty of money available, while BofA claims that FNBO returned the payment unpaid (first they said the reason was that the FNBO account was "on hold", second time they reasoned that it was because of "non-sufficient funds"). So basically, nobody takes the blame and I'm stuck in the middle.

BofA (actually MBNA CSRs) were nice a promptly refunded the $39 returned payment fee and instructed me to make a new payment (which I did this time on MBNA Billpay side funded by Etrade). The lady checked on my 0% BT and said there's no effect on it and in fact called me back today and left a message that she double checked and there really is no effect on the 0% BTs.

FNBO was actually nice about it as well - as they immediatelly credited my FNBO Direct account $39 to cover the BofA's fee, without questions. Of course, they got an earful from one angry customer, so they had to do something to get me off the phone (something other than hanging up).

The bad thing is - that MBNA actually pulled my credit on 7/27 when the payment was returned! And they pulled hard! Luckily they pulled TU - but I don't get the point of that pull and might in fact dispute it as I didn't give them a permission to pull.

So net effect:
- 2+ hours wasted on the phone
- mental anguish
- $39 profit
- hard pull on TU

In other news - BofA Biz has yet to refund the $1k+ finance charges from the BT even though I asked about it 5 days ago. Perhaps a phone call might nudge them in the right direction again.

I kind of fear what's going to happen with MY FNBO account and my BofA business card... Actually, I've already decided not to try to pay anything out of FNBO, I'll stick with Fidelity.

If you really really want to find out what happened with FNBO/BOFA, I think you need to find, from BofA, the actual ACH return code they got from FNBO (for instance, "R16"). Then, at FNBO, find someone, who can find that returned item, and explain how the code got that way. There's probably only a very few people involved in the depths of FNBO's ACH system, and using the raw ACH return codes might help draw them out.

Awesome - Wells Fargo finally approved - new card arrived with $14k credit limit.

I went through 3 rounds of denials for silly reasons, in the end I got the underwriter on the phone directly and asked him what's up. Finally after talking to him directly, he went ahead and approved the app - w/o pulling a new report.

This is for a personal line, 0% for 6 months. While I've been banking with them for about 11 yrs, it's my first cc with WF.

jairocon,

I saw this in your post.
Union Bank of California Bucksback (0%/12mo/$75BTfee)
You said you get denied. When did you get the result, is it instant or days/weeks later? and are you a CA resident ?

I am not a CA resident and did applied for this at mid July. I have not hear anything back, no inquiry from them either.

I'm not a CA resident. I got a denial letter in the mail and I can't remember who the underwriting bank was, but it didn't match up with anybody else, so I just assumed it was for the Union Bank of Cali. Otherwise I got nothing in mail from them specifically. Since it was one of the late applications, I didn't even call back to inquire.

jairocon said:Quick update: M&T approved with $7.5k CL! Unbelievable! This was over a week after the AOR when I applied for it, and it was still approved. I'm glad that I did. Thanks kherty and lhendricks for providing useful info so that I could come back and re-do the application.

I applied also for M&T Biz in my 1.0. I called 8 days after applying because I entered my SSN as the EIN. I wanted to ensure the app was OK. I think since I listed my name with no "fname lname, Inc.", the status was pending as it was hung up on my DBA (I simply listed first name last name). They are continuing processing hopefully turns ok.

jairocon, (a)did you list your name as business name? (b)have you requested a CLI for your card? (c)how will you get cash from the card?

When I called them up they made me give a business name - I asked if I can be First Last DBA First Last, they said no. So I asked if I can just make up a business name that's not registered. That was fine with them and that's what I did. I didn't request a CLI on activation as it was quite late in the game already. I BTed to my CitiBiz card and that went through just fine. I called for the BT. And there was no problem taking the whole CL for the BT, so that's what I did.
