Tablet deals from Apple, Samsung and Amazon were hot Black Friday deals and retailers offered them at the lowest prices ever (prices that continued to drop in 2014). Black Friday laptop deals were also at very low prices for basic and touchscreen models from Dell, HP, Toshiba, Microsoft and Lenovo with more than a dozen choices under $300. Fashion brands stood out with exceptional store-wide discounts of 40-60% off from Levi’s, Aeropostale, Nike and others, garnering more shopping trips through Black Friday ad sites than initially anticipated, and those deep discounts continued to hold through Cyber Monday deals and Cyber week sales.
Black Friday PREDICTIONS from FatWallet.com for the top brands project for continued store-wide sales and category discounts, making it the prime shopping opportunity to compare options for the some of the best savings of the year. Expect Best Buy Black Friday deals for Apple products to be strong, with $100 off iPads and up to $200 off Macbooks. Other retailers like Walmart and Target will once again offer in-store gift cards up to $100 off iPhone 6 deals, iPad Air deals and iPad Mini deals (Apple event scheduled for Oct. 16 to announce new iPad Air features and pricing for November). Expect the bigger computer brands like HP, Dell and Lenovo to be very aggressive with laptop discounts, featuring dozens of basic laptops under $250 and up to $300 off newer hybrid laptops. Top toy brands like LEGO, Skylanders, Nerf, Hot Wheels and Monster High to lead with 25% off or better on toys kids want most. The biggest savings on brands will again come for those looking for clothing sales as fashion brands and retailers that carry them will offer half off or better on over 8,000 individual Black Friday clothing and shoe deals this year.
Top 10 Black Friday deals from BIG BRANDS :
It’s almost a certainty that Apple will be the most coveted brand during the holidays and with new iPhone deals and new iPad Air deals tempting consumers tot upgrade, Black Friday Apple deals will be everywhere. There were more than 250 Black Friday Apple deals in 2013. The biggest included $100 gift cards on iPhone 5S/5C, iPad Air and iPad Mini deals from Walmart, Target and Meijer. Best Buy Black Friday deals also included $100 of Macbook Pro and Macbook Air deals.
Samsung offered 560+ deals featured at more than 32 major retailers. Although first to mind is the Galaxy S4 deals, Samsung actually is one of the most versatile brands in the world, offering Black Friday deals for cell phones, tablets, video and digital cameras, laptops, appliances, TVs and home theater equipment. Few brands have their visibility, or ability to stand with a giant like Apple. Expect Samsung Galaxy S5 deals to shine this Black Friday, and mobile carriers will be offering discounts on the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 deals to compete with the iPhone 6 Plus.
Disney’s Frozen toy deals with steal a lot of the spotlight from this year. Last Black Friday, Disney was represented in more than 600 deals from more than two dozen retailers, and while toy deals were the big category, Disney Black Friday deals could be found on video games (Disney’s Infinity Starter Kit for Wii), movies, books, electronics, sporting goods, apparel and holiday items. This year, the variety for savings on Disney branded products will be even stronger.
Does Office still come to mind when someone mentions Microsoft. Don’t tell that to those that scored a Surface deal (Staples had Microsoft Surface 10″ RT 32GB Tablet w/ Keyboard for $299) or the lowest price ever on a PS3 deal (walmart practically gave away Xbox 360 4GB Console for $99). With PS4 deals boasting as the greatest video game console ever made, Black Friday video game deals for PS4 consoles and games will surface at most major bigbox stores and tech stores. At 4% or more cash back, the Microsoft store is one of the most popular stores for FatWallet members on Black Friday.
Known as a well rounded electronics brand from even a few years ago, Sony has lost market share recently, especially diring Black Friday. However, last year they were well represented with more than 180 really good deals on a variety of items, including the lowest prices ever on an Xbox 360 console (bundled Xbox deals were hot like this Toy R Us deal: Sony PS3 250GB Batman Arkham Origins/The Last of Us Bundle for $199) and Target offered the new Playstation 4 for $100 off. While there were a few Bravia HDTV deals at competitive prices and Sony Bluray players as low as $40, PS3 video game deals probably offered the best Black Friday savings for this brand last year. PS4 video game deals should do as well this year.
Nike is perhaps the most popular brand in clothing, definitely sports apparel and shoes. Last Black Friday holiday shoppers could find more than 250 Nike deals on shoes and various apparel, and the savings were especially good for nike kids deals and infant items up to 60% off. A number of sports centric stores (including great discounts from Sports Authority, Dick’s Sports and Kohl’s online deals) offered 20% off or better on Nike men’s and women’s activewear, and a few featured Nike shoe deals, including NikeStore.com who also offered a holiday increased up to 7% cash back on FatWallet.
UNDER ARMOUR Deals
No longer an up and coming brand, Under Armour can be seen worn by millions of everyday people, let alone the majority of major sports athletes. Last Black Friday offered shoppers more than 170 Under Armour coupons and deals up to 25% off hoodies, fleeces and uo to 20% off their popular under activewear and logo branded accessories. This was the first year we saw 25% Under Armour shoe deals. They will again be very popular with holiday shoppers and a top gift choice for sports minded kids and adults this year.
Craftsman tools are a bargain buy for the part-time DIY home project person, because their quality products at affordable prices, and guaranteed for life. They are the #1 favorite tool brand by Americans (see our tool survey) and were featured in more than 350 Black Friday tool deals last year. Most of them were Sears coupon specials, but 6 other retailers featured Craftsman tools in Black Friday ads, too. 2014 will be a good time to buy Craftsman cordless drills and bigger tool sets and tool sotrage units at 50% off or better with holiday increased Sears cash back through FatWallet.
LG, like Sony and Samsung, have a huge line of electronics and appliances that get featured in dozens of stores Black Friday ads. Sears and Home Depot offered 30% off or more on LG appliance deals, Walmart offered LG Bluray players for as low as $44 (half off) and several bigbox featured some of the lowest prices on bigscreen LED HDTVs for Black Friday LG deals including Shokp which offered LG 42″ 1080p LED HDTV for $379. Whether it’s home theater items, kitchen appliances or cell phones, expect to find LG products as a big value in your Black Friday bargains this year.
FISHER PRICE Deals
Black Friday toy deals are very popular and very numerous each year. Fisher Price is perhaps the top toy brand found in more than 30 stores’ Black Friday ads, with over 230 total toy deals last year. Black Friday shoppers could save $50 or more on battery powered kids vehicles, like the Fisher Price Power Wheels Chevrolet Corvette 12-Volt Ride-On at $199 with a Target coupon, or this Black Friday Walmart deal of $89 for a Fisher-Price Power Wheels Barbie Jeep 6-Volt. You could save 50% off Fisher Price toys with Kmart, Bealls and Kohl’s coupons. Quality toys make better gifts-expect affordable prices on Fisher Price toys again this holiday.
