/PRNewswire/ — FatWallet.com announced results of its Back to School Tech Survey which revealed 28% of parents plan to purchase student laptops and/or smartphones during back to school sales this year for their children in grades K-12 (up from 20% in 2015). More than one-third of those parents rank back-to-school sales as the best time to find student laptop deals, out-ranking Black Friday or any other time of year. More than half of parents indicated some level of concern with their children having their own laptops. Survey: 57% of Parents Use Smartphones to Shop for School Supplies
/PRNewswire/ — FatWallet.com, the savings resource for millions of online deal hunters, announced results of its annual Back-to-School Survey (*Survata), which reveals 9 in 10 parents plan to spend the same or more than last year when shopping for back-to-school items. More than half of parents said they will shop for back-to-school needs online versus in-store, and 4 in 10 said lowest price is the most important factor when buying school supplies. Nearly two-thirds of parents said back-to-school prices are best in July and August, but more than 2 in 10 said prices are best after school starts. Most notably, 70% of parents said they now buy more, or most, K-12 school supplies compared to years past due to increasing budget cuts at their children’s schools. See FULL RESULTS.
