Planning to scare your coulrophobic friends this Halloween (that’s fear of clowns, for the uninitiated)? You won’t find any creepy clown masks at Target. According to TIME Money, in light of the recent creepy clown scares and attacks occurring nationwide, Target has decided to pull all clown masks in its inventory. In a statement published in USA Today, Target spokesperson Joshua Thomas said, “Given the current environment, we have made the decision to remove a variety of clown masks from our assortment, both in stores and online.”
Seems fitting given clown scares and attacks have been reported in more than 20 states this year.
We dug through Target’s online inventory of Halloween masks, and, sure enough, there were zero clown masks — creepy or no. However, if you want to dress as a classic clown, Target has you covered. Like this men’s clown costume for $24 or this women’s clown costume for $49.99:
