Consumers and Businesses must file claims by December 6, 2012

Consumers and businesses may be entitled to a cash refund from a billion dollar LCD price-fixing settlement fund. The fund is made up of settlements with ten manufacturers over an illegal conspiracy to raise the price of LCD flat panels used in televisions, monitors, and laptop computers.

"Consumers and businesses can get a considerable amount of money as a result of this settlement," said Attorney General Schneider. "We encourage you to file your claim online before the December 6th deadline."

Eligible consumers could collect $25, $100, $200 or more depending upon the number of televisions, monitors, and laptop computers purchased between from 1999 to 2006. Businesses with large purchases could recoup thousands of dollars.

The easiest way to file a claim is to use the online claim form at or call 1-855-225-1886 for more information.

Consumers and businesses are eligible for payments if they were residents of one of the 24 settling states or the District of Columbia at the time of purchase. The states participating in the refund are Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

The LCD flat screen manufacturers participating in the settlement are AU Optronics Corportation, Hitachi Ltd., Sharp Corporation, Toshiba Corporation, Samsung Electronics Corporation, Epson Imaging Devices Corporation, LG Electronics, Chunghwa Picture Tubes, HannStar Display Corporation, and Chi Mei Optoelectronics.

As much as this is getting spread around and also the little settlement amount, compared to how much they made, I am guessing we end up with a $25 coupon off our next TV by the time this is done.
