As most reviewers said, the app cannot replace a good scanner

Which model is considered a good photo scanner?

It depends on how much you want to spend, but if you are serious about it, then the high end Epson Perfection scanners are hard to beat, eg. Perfection v800.

Great app for a quick scan to post online... easy to use, very convenient, but definitely not the same quality of a good flatbed scanner. I have my older Epson Perfection v300... does nice job on photos and slides. Newer versions are well reviewed as well.

thanks MC

Direct link.

Thanks for the link. Somehow I think the folks at Google understand the "Human Condition" of inertia. With the smart phone becoming ubiquitous and so many boxes of photographs laying unseen, Google figured out a way to provide a service AND get more eyeballs for their advertisements.
