My daughter's school has a zero budget for science Olympiad this year. Hobby lobby sells some of the supplies but we have no stores near us. The shipping rates are horrible so I was hoping for some sort of BF or cyber Monday sale with at least free or reduced priced shipping. Any sales would be great too. Im just try to stretch our donation the best I can and I hate to spend $20 or more shipping light items.

I doubt there are items exclusive to HobbyLobby that other online vendors can't supply. Other than using the 40% coupon at a local store occasionally I rarely shop there. Like you I factor shipping into my buying decisions.

Does anyone know another store that sells the Science Olympiad regulation supplies? I live very rural and landlocked. The official science Olympiad distributors will only let the school purchase. I tried to donate money but there is a whole process of the district approving and than the funds cant be given just to one program(very frustrating).  Two years ago my husband just got some supplies at a hardware type store and one of the parts made my child disqualified because it was not official. If you can imagine this is after driving 640 miles to the competition how this felt for my child.  I would honestly just suck up and pay the shipping but there are other kids that need supplies and I would like to help as many kids as I can , 2 years ago all 15 kids got disqualified in at least one event because of supplies. Last year the team had a budget and the correct supplies and our little rural school won golds. Our budget went to the football team (grr). This is the only chance most of these kids have to compete in something like this and has been a great pathway for many out of this area to good colleges with scholarships.

I'm learning a lot from just looking into your question. Didn't realize is was so "official" in the requirements.

Oh well, good luck. Perhaps someone who may be local to a store you may know could possibly purchase and ship much more cheaply than ordering direct.

Hi sisterbear30, it looks like you can buy them online and have them shipped, here:  https://wardsci.com/store/search;jsessionid=ATUmLB5pyLXBw1fWKbVV...

and here:  https://wardsci.com/store/content/externalContentPage.jsp?path=/...

Might save you round trip gas...
