Parties to two Visionworks class action lawsuits alleging a deceptive “Buy One, Get One Free” offer have reached a settlement agreement resolving both cases.Consumers who made a qualifying “Buy One, Get One Free” purchase from Visionworks stores in Ohio and Illinois may be entitled to a settlement payment. The plaintiffs claim that as part of its BOGO offer, eyeglass retailer Visionworks inflated the price of the first pair of glasses to partly cover the cost of the second and purportedly “free” pair of glasses. The second pair was therefore not actually “free” as advertised, the plaintiffs claim. They allege Visionworks’ “Buy One, Get One Free” promotion violates the consumer protection laws of Ohio and Illinois.
