Writing on the wall has been there for a while now.
They changed their business model which was working well and are paying the price now.
At least it's not exploding like CompUSA, Border and CircuitCity.

CompUSA and CircuitCity were taken out for different reasons over a decade ago. One of them being BestBuy's practices at the time were to advertise and sell items below cost. BestBuy had an insiders track to their flyers so that they could advertise items at the same time those other companies were at much lower prices, yet not carry much of it in any store. As each company went out of business, BestBuy adjusted their inventory and raised their prices. From then on no one really had a really great sale as they kept their prices at nearly the same level as BestBuys. Ten years later, BestBuy started to feel their own tactics by expanding some areas and shrinking others attempting to attract customers. But as we saw Pauls TV leave and now HHgregg and Sears leaving markets, BestBuys days may be numbered as people are purchasing numerous items online. Staples had a business related market two decades ago and should  have stayed there. Instead they entered other markets carrying Target related merchandise. Thus now they are going back to the old business model and making their stores act and look like Quill
