Women's clothing retailer bebe has decided to close all their physical locations in a restructuring effort by the end of May. The company has not filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and is not going out of business as of this time.

  It's not this specific company that's the problem. The problem, in general, is automation. The replacement of retail with online sales is one aspect of that. It will cost many thousands of jobs, and many companies who can't keep up will go under. The replacement jobs, in fulfillment centers, will be just a fraction of those jobs that were lost.

Automation is going to cost most blue-collar workers their jobs within the next twenty years, and yes, Trump will bear much of the responsibility for the resultant social issues if all he does is yell about immigrants and the evils of free trade. There needs to be a solid plan to deal with retraining of those workers, and how to integrate the chronically unemployed (and unemployable, due to low IQ in a high-tech world) into society. I haven't heard a peep from the administration on how they will deal with that. I doubt they understand, or care about, the issue.
