Funny how time changes what qualifies as a deal. I remember when I bought this last December for $250 feeling like I missed out because a few weeks prior it was like $200 or something. Now $270 is hot?

I never saw it for $200 so I'm kicking myself for missing that but I have been looking around and there was a deal posting for TigerDirect having it on sale and it was $300! So I felt this is at least better then that plus I save $40 on motherboard and memory combs. Not saying it's the hottest ever but it's the hottest currently.

It's always good to have data points, but when we're dealing with items with volatile prices the lack of a time machine means that relative price drops look good.

4820K is same price if you are interested and have power supply available.
However, 4820K does NOT come with heat sink (yes, it is boxed CPU, but it just doesn't) and I hear it isn't easy to cool using regular air cooling device. Many seem to be going water cooling but once you go watercooling it appear to OC so much better than 4770k.

Well, good thing is I didn't snooze on that day when this very same 4770k priced at $199.99 plus tax (4770k+MSI Z87 Mpower+ EVGA 760GTX = my rig) . However, Microcenter always has best prices for any CPUs even comparing with online retails. Catch a banging deal sometimes is not easy
