This is really hot for me because I just found out these are free for prime members,

"Stargate Atlantis: The Complete Series" and "Stargate SG-1: The Complete Series" are available on Prime Instant Video
Customers with Amazon Prime can watch all 5 seasons of "Stargate Atlantis: The Complete Series" and all 10 of "Stargate SG-1: The Complete Series" for no additional charge using Prime Instant Video. Watch now "

Is the prime HD quality about the same as Bluray disc quality for video and sound?  I don't really need deleted scenes and commentary.

blu-rays are just about always better quality than streaming.  Even if the final resolution is the same, the compression they use isn't lossless and the streaming is usually significantly more compressed.  Only time this might not be true is with older media that doesn't have an HD source to begin with... and maybe with cartoons that are simple enough color-wise that they don't need much compression.

Only case where it's not true is if you're talking about 4K streaming... but still depends on having appropriate source material and enough bandwidth to support the 25Mbps or greater required.  Anything not originally recorded with enough definition still won't really benefit from being shown at higher resolutions.

i hated it when stargate: Atlantis was cancelled after just 5 seasons. great deal for the bluray set.

Great price for the series

I prefer to stream , when you watch a disc, it seems every 3-4 hours I have to get up and change it, that is just too much trouble......

Wow.

They destroyed the series by getting rid of Higgins and bringing in Carter. I liked Carter in SG1 but that and other cast changes destroyed the unique chemistry on Atlantis. Then they tried to appeal to teeangers with SG-U.

Greed ruined the series.
