The box refers to a "nano receiver" and the receiver does talk to both mouse and keyboard. I don't know about "unifying". I've found, though, that my other wireless Logitech mouse interferes with the MK270 system. When they're on the same desk, the MK270 set will stop communicating with the desktop PC while the other Logitech mouse continues to work with my laptop. When that happens, I plug a corded mouse into the laptop.
