Pro tip #1. If you are not buying anything for $200, buy Newegg GCs.
Pro tip #2. If buying Newegg gift cards, split it up, like buy 4 x $50 GCs (in a single transaction) to later combine with Visa check-out like offers. (In the past, it was possible to use Visa check-out discount even if most - but not all of the balance was paid with GCs.)
Pro tip #3. If Newegg is not your thing, check out their selection of branded gift cards.

This is available on most cards. You can also add the offer via Twitter with #AmexNewegg.

Newegg has an OK selection of merchant gift cards. If you can't find anything you like, the $200 eGift Visa is the best bet with a $9.95 fee so it's a $15 money maker. It can only be used online or on the phone and most people have bills they can pay with it. Otherwise, you can buy two $100 regular Visa gift cards but the profit is only $10 after fees.

The portal terms and conditions exclude gift cards but the cash back seems to be posting anyway. Of course YMMV. You can get 3% at Shopathome or 2% at Topcashback. I assume it's ok to mention this since FW is no longer offering cash back.

So with the virtual visa, I guess there's no real way to convert it to actual cash?

The American Express offers are great. Within an hour of making a purchase, I usually have an email from American Express saying, "you've successfully redeemed a promotion". I always get the statement credit right away too. In a world where rebates are a huge PITA and a big hassle, the American express promos are a breath of fresh air.

Wow... I sound like a paid AE spokesman!

I ordered a $200 Visa eGift, but when I tried to redeem the gift card, I got: "Certificate Activating Please try again in a few minutes." This is after I received the email for one and half hours. Just wonder how long I have to wait, or is there something wrong?

Should already be activated when you receive the email.

Anyone know if the $200 is pre or post tax? Looking at an item that is under $200 but will be over with tax and wondering if I need to add an item to be on the safe side.

AMEX only looks at the total charge.

Can you use Newegg GCs to buy third party GCs anymore?

  Looks like you can not.

Thanks. Settled for $100 physical Vanilla card and $100 electronic Vanilla card. Still a MM. No more $200 in stock. Too bad limit is one per item.

One per item? I am looking at the $100 Visa e-gift card and it says:"In stock. Limit 2 per customer. Ships from United States."

Bummer all the $200 cards are sold out it appears. Still stands to be a $13.10 MM by getting 2 $100 Visa e-gift cards though.

I see what you mean/ Non-credit card gift cards have a limit of 1. When they have those limits is it per order? I have the Am Ex offer on several Am Ex cards. Can I place individual orders and circumvent that limit?

rated:
The limit is valid for 48 hours. Any subsequent orders placed for the same product within that time frame will be cancelled.

The $200 Visa e-gifts are back in stock.

Used these and the 10% back (up to $300) on insurance that was on 2 of my Amex's to get about $100 cash back on car insurance renewal.

Wonder if these can be used in PayPal?

Better question is whether or not it's too late to take advantage of this offer now?

The offer expires on 12/31.  Newegg fulfills Visa e-gifts within an hour. So not too late.

Cool. Good deal. Thanks.

Just to be clear, the deal is:
$200 +9.95 activation = $209.95.
Get back $25 from AM3X and a $200 Visa (good for online and phone orders).
Correct.

Is the limit on these $200 e-cards 1 or 2? When I click on the $200 card it takes me to the $40 card and on the $40 card the limit is 2. I just placed a second order for a $200 card using a different Am Ex card and the order was promptly canceled...so I guess the limit is 1. Correct?

Do they figure the 48 hours between orders down to the minute of when the first order was placed? So if I ordered my first $200 card at 3:08 pm PT I must wait until 3:09 pm PT two days later to order my next one?

EDIT: I have confirmed the limit on the $200 card is indeed 1. So different dollar amounts of the same product have different limits as the $40 card has a limit of 2.

My Visa e-gift card arrived in my e-mail in 10 minutes.

Thanks for the tip on the Visa eGC - I bought the $200 eGC which has a $9.95 fee. With the AMEX cashback, it's close to $15 MM.

The actual eGC arrived in about 15 mins.  Also got an email from AMEX that I used the CB Offer.  Easy Peesy

I believe so. My order that was 20 min or so short of full 48 hours got cancelled.

many of the cashback sites will cancel out the cashback once they analyze the order and realize it was a gift card. (although this isn't 100% from my reading).
