You might actually want to consider the bundle found here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KMSKNGU/ref=fs_ods_fs_eink_keb

$69.99 gets you the same Kindle WITHOUT special offers + 2-year-worry-free-warranty + good-quality folding-type cover w/ wake-up function.

The Kindle has no restrictions, you would have to put them on if you wanted it for kids.

Unless the cover is worth $20 to you , I'd pass.  The "special offers" are extremely easy to ignore-it's like the ad on the back cover of a magazine.  The Kindle is extremely durable-I use mine several hours a day, toss it in my briefcase, no special treatment.  I had one go bad after three plus years of heavy use,

If it was me though I'd spend the extra and get the Kindle Paperwhite-the backlight is well worth the extra bucks.  I tried out a half dozen booklights, some built into a cover, some seperate-and found them all to range from useless to awkward at best.
