i'm debating between this and zte zmax2 i bought for $50. i can use either on red pocket.

moto is all carrier, 5.0" scrren, android 6.0 and $40 more... both have same processor and ram

Expand on this one key difference,  "moto is all carrier",  the moto is GSM and CDMA, the ZTE is not.  
It could be an important difference to someone thinking Sprint or others using the Sprint network.

  The bigger battery on the ZTE is needed because of the bigger screen. So, not really an advantage over the moto. For theose that travel internationally, and do not mind the smaller screen and $40 price difference, the Moto is better, because it supports the international LTE bands as well.

  Not the same thing. That's the verizon version. CDMA only.
