Your title needs the word 'refurbished' in it somewhere.  That's a big omission...

do check this thread before ordering this older refurbished model which also needs a rebate.

That is a roku stick.  I think that is different than a roku device?  Anyways I have the Roku SE and it works just fine for me.
I'd call this a good deal even without sending in the $5 rebate.

good deal, except I rarely touch my roku over kodi on an android box

https://www.cnet.com/products/roku-se/preview/ Entry level...basically the old Roku 1, so every other of their products has better specs.

I ordered the stick, and was shipped a Roku PREMIERE which is 4K capable.

how?

After the CES show in Las Vegas...new and much better streaming devices will be shown and this unit will be as obsolete as a flip phone.

you do realize how truly dumb this statement is right?
a flip phone was designed to MAKE PHONE CALLS - and a Roku is designed to STREAM VIDEO - as long as either work for their intended purpose, neither will become obsolete - they just won't have all the bells and whistles that new stuff has - and for this price - WHO CARES????

We do not know how. They did to me as well - see this post. Maybe they are out of sticks and would rather ship what they have so customers do not wait too long.

Well said.  What a ridiculous thing to claim - these little millennials need to understand that not every application and not every person needs the latest and greatest electro-toy every six months at a cost of hundreds or thousands of dollars a year.

I bought a refurbished Roku SE last year and right now I'm watching the Sopranos on it in HD.  It works very well and I don't see any validity to the multiple negative reviews complaining about the speed or other issues with it.  It is quicker to start up and works a heck of a lot better with vastly more channels than trying to access these internet channels on my several Sony Blu-Ray players.

Last time got one. Not the same, but also works well.
