Great price!

Definitely recommend this router.
I put 2 (1 router/1 access point) of these in a year ago and they have been rock solid. I didn't even bother to install 3rd party software since the Asus has been easy to use and has plenty of features.

Can I use it exclusively as a wired router and turn off completely the WiFi broadcasting?

Yes.  You could turn off the radio and/or turn the transmission power to 0%

Many reviewers complained that the router runs hot. The price is good, but I am still not sure if i should buy it. Thanks for the post OP. Good find.

I've been using this one for 2 years or so. No complaints. Great signal everywhere in my 1800 sqft single floor house, and the router is on an extreme end of the house. I think I had to reboot it twice since I had it, because I have an old HP Laserjet 1018 printer shared out through it (it has 2 USB ports) and it stopped working.

I think D-link router was better deal than this Asus one...

Why is it a better deal technically and price?

good deal if you can do without getting the rebate,,,Newegg is the new tigerdirect of rebates,,

4 antenna - better coverage + strong signal
AC1750 vs N900
$53.99 VS $39.99

It is a better router, but unfortunately it is OOS.
