Good deal, but this version of iPad Pro (9.7) might be upgraded later this year. Get it if you really need one right now. From Cnet: There are only two real caveats here: The discount is only available in-store, not online. And you should be mentally prepared for the fact that the 9.7-inch Pro is likely to be replaced by a presumed newer, better model sometime in 2017 -- possibly as soon as next month, which is the product's one-year anniversary. (Don't say we didn't warn you.)
There is a pattern of these going on various retailer sales a few months before the next version and then the sale price becomes the regular price of the older tech. The ipad air 2, the current last generation, was on sale for $275 or so around black friday. If Apple introduces a new ipad and the current Pro becomes the old tech, it is entirely possible that we see this thing as next black friday's door buster at prices nicely below the current sale.
Anyway, green for OP. For now, this is a good deal, though BF is the best time to get these things.
I bought this machine in November, and have been very happy with it. You never know for sure what the upgrades will be or when, but I agree with the 'if you need it now get it' approach. The upgrades I've been reading about are a side to side display (rather than a bezel) and perhaps new sizes. Remember that if you have a Target card, you can get another 5% off!

None of the Targets in our area have any 128GB 9.7" ones left BUT they were offering Rain Checks good for a month or so. We were looking for one right away, though, for a present, and Fry's Electronics price-matched Target's big sale. (They were surprised at how low Target was selling these for.)
DealRambler said: Is the ipad pro like the Microsoft surface ? does it act like a full blown computer also or is it just a bigger version of the ipad? The iPad pro is not like the surface. The surface runs the same operating system, Wondows 10 that all Windows computers run. The Surface runs exactly the same programs that Windows computers do and can use the same accessories. It has a touch screen and a pen, but is a windows touch screen laptop with an optional accessory keyboard.
The IPad Pro is a tablet copouter that runs an operating system shared with iPhones. It is not the same as a Macbook laptop or Macintosh computer. It can only use software specifically made for IPads or iPhones. There is a lot of it, but it's not the same as what runs on desktop or laptop computers.
The iPad is a great product but it is not a macintosh computer in a tablet form. It's really an iPhone in tablet form. The Surface is a fully functional windows computer in a tablet form. Which is "better" depends upon your individual need.
