Same screen size, resolution and processor as the Moto G 3rd gen, but twice the storage, twice the RAM, and Android 6.0 with a statement from Motorola saying it will be upgraded to Android 7 (take the last with a grain of salt).
EDIT: Or go for the Amazon Prime version posted below by gbuskirk
I have a Moto G 2nd gen with 8 GB storage and 1 GB RAM and that really bites. The OS often kicks an app out of memory (i.e. Google Play services), but the phone is otherwise mostly stable. Half the time I've wished I left it on Marshmallow (or maybe even KitKat). I have just a dozen 3rd party apps, and I have to occasionally clear cache just to recover some internal storage. I can't update apps because there's not enough free storage space (for some reason, the OS holds onto the last 500 MB free). Ultimately I'll probably convert over to adoptable storage to work around this problem.
So the point is I would strongly discourage anyone from buying a phone with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB storage at this time. It severely limits the user experience.
