Any good as a regular HD?

It should be better built because it is made to run 24 hours a day for 7 days a week (whereas Seagate says their 'regular' drives are made to run 8 hours a day for 5 days a week). It also has a 3 year warranty which is longer than standard ones you see these days.

I emailed Newegg because I didn't see the exact model number listed, and they tell me it is ST3000VX006.

surveillance hdds usually have at least one million hours MTBF (mean time between failure), while most "regular" desktop hdds have about 300,000. This particular seagate is 1M (some go as high as 2M).
Unfortunately, its OOS.

Yup, I just saw that it went OOS -- and I didn't have the mobile app earlier today so I hadn't ordered yet. Bummer...
