Might have to grab one of these. I need an entry level system to start out and less then $100 for the bare bones system(NO HDD) is not bad. Can just use the savings for the HDD.

I'm a Surveillance Technician at a Casino, I bought this to get a better understanding of just how good / bad low end equipment is because I get asked for advice on these things quite often.

I wanted to make a comment due to all the negative comments about the IR range that you'll see on Amazon.

While how well a camera can function in low light conditions is a very important factor, cameras with built in IR are never expected to give good results in outdoor conditions. Just think about it realistically, do you really expect a few LED's on a device that consumes so little power to light up the area like high power mercury vapor parking lot lights can do?

If you think of the IR on a camera as having the same sort of effect as someone standing outside with a little 6 volt camping lantern, then you'll get realistic results. If you need more light than that for your situation, expect to have to install appropriate lighting.

My only other comment is "weather proof" does not mean "water proof". Professional level outdoor PTZ cameras have heaters and fans. They are also loved by wasps to build nests in. If you dunked one of these in a bucket of water while it was running it would be ruined. Inexpensive bullet cameras don't get those kind of features, don't have unrealistic expectations of a camera that is designed to stay "fog free" just off the heat the IR led's produce. If you mount any cheap camera outdoors, where and how you mount it is the key to how well it works.

Sannce product sucks. There's no manuals. I bought one from before. It says I can download and app and view the cams on my phone. That never worked. Also when you're trying to playback from a previous date, only 2 of the 4 cams really recorded and it can't be changed.
