Using Higher One card for car rental (credit or debit)

I need to do a one day rental, but am really confused about if my card will work.

It is my understanding that enterprise will only charge the daily rate, and the deposit amount will be the rate plus 20% if a "major credit card" is used. The deposit can be $200 or higher if a debit is used, plus more extensive checks to allow the rental. They will not allow a prepaid card to be used at all.

My question is, will my Higher One Card (MasterCard logo) process as a credit or debit when I book the reservation? Has anyone had experience using this card to rent a car?

I tried searching for the website that will tell you how a card will process with the merchant, but I guess I am using the wrong keywords.

Also, this is the first time I've ever needed to rent a car, so I am very ignorant of the process and the policies I have read are very confusing. Any insight would be helpful.

Is the Higher One card a credit card or debit card? á Not sure what Enterprise's policy is, but I know some of the rental car agencies will also run a credit check on people who use a debit card.

Did you try it? I was wondering because I have a Higher One card and wanted to rent a car...
