I would like to buy a new construction home and I heard that some real estate agents pay you a portion of the commission that they get from the builder just for using them (usually it is put towards closing costs). I've seen 1% "new home rebates" but was wondering if anyone knows of anything higher than that in Florida?  I've researched commission rebating and found that it is totally legal for real estate agents to do as long as it is fully disclosed to all involved parties, but most real estate agents don't want you to know this. I already know the area well and know what I want, and do all the work of finding my home myself, so I really don't need an agent for that, but would just like my own representation and most of all the rebate money!

i have done 50% for new constructions. so that would be 1.25 to 1.5%. find a small independent broker and let them know you already know the place you want and that you are looking for a broker that will rebate 50% +

Subtle shill thread.

Just an update: I did a google search for "Florida New Homes 2% Cash Back" and found a real estate company that give a 2% new home rebate in Florida with no hidden fees! Plus the agents are Certified New Home Specialists, which is great because I like the fact that new construction homes is their specialty. I am going to go with them.

get that in writing....after the house closes....you can't do much.

get that in writing.  sometimes new construction commission is 2% which would leave them with nothing...so yeah there better be a star or asterisk next to that claim

This is what you would call a shill thread.
