Looking to get auto insurance by a mutual insurance company.

Does anyone have a list of Mutual Insurance company that sell insurance in state of California? (i know several like USAA, State farms, Triple A...etc).

Does the dividend policyholder gets offset some of the potentially higher premiums?

The state has various reports that may be helpful, such as https://www.insurance.ca.gov/01-consumers/120-company/04-mrktsha... (see page 75). More reports are listed at https://www.insurance.ca.gov/01-consumers/120-company/04-mrktsha...

While mutual companies distribute excess earnings, there's not necessarily any. AAA seems to be pretty consistent with having one, according to https://www.calif.aaa.com/home/insurance/get-insurance/auto-insu... State Farm, not so much.

In my experience, AAA isn't very competitive.

For CA, you can compare base rates @ http://www.insurance.ca.gov/01-consumers/105-type/9-compare-prem...
