Last week I was backing out my car and hit my friend's car parked on my driveway. I have collision and liability insurance with $250 deductible. My car is not much damaged but looks like my friend will have to replace door. Obviously I am at fault, do I have to pay deductible for both cars? Would my friend have to call insurance company or I can call for both cars? Please advise.

Thanks.

Give your insurance information to friend. He will make a liability claim on your policy to get his car fixed. Your insurance company will talk to you to get the facts. There is no deductible for a liability claim.

If you care to get your car fixed by making a collision claim, you will need to call your insurance. It will be subject to your collision deductible. If it is minor, may not be advisable to make a claim.

It should be all one accident, so it shouldn't matter if there is a claim on one car or two.
