This is a good compendium of companies in the fintech world.  It is worth reading the short description of each company provided (click on arrows at bottom to view completely).

Have to admit I was unaware prior of most of these companies.  If you are using the services of any of them, or if you know about any of them for other reasons, your comments would be most welcome:

Thanks to the OP, I learned about some interesting companies. I was/am looking for a reliable (secure!!) financial accounts aggregator, but without the fees of PersonalCapital.com .

So, Credit Karma, a FW staple, is on that list. If only CK would provide financial account aggregation and analytics instead of the once-a-year tax preparation (which many of us avoided getting from CK this year )

Quantopian is interesting in how it bridges hedge funds with quant talent.
Vouch is interesting in that it spreads the risk among multiple people vouching for a borrower.
