Join any one of the 14 organizations listed on the following page...

If you don't want to pay to join any of the organizations, note that "NSS (National Space Society) membership is complimentary when you choose this option while completing your NASA FCU membership application."

Wow this is too good to be true!  Did anyone actually take advantage of this one?  It was a couple months ago and so obviously, I don't see this offer posted on their site...bummer.

Does anybody know if Patelco or most banks for that matter allow partial withdrawal of CD's so that the penalty only hits what you withdraw - thanks

rated:
one option is to get multiple smaller CDs rather than one larger Cd (e.g. five $20,000 Cds instead of one $100,000 Cd) so that you need only have an early withdrawal penalty on a portion of the funds

Citizens Bank offering 1.75% 15 Month CD

Requires Premium Plus Checking acct which is $10K. So it's good for a 6 figure investment as that will make the lost interest on the $10K irrelevant.
For example $250K investment will effectively yield 1.68% APR.
Not bad for 15 month commitment!
