I came across this at SD, I signed up for this too.

Just got an email to join TailorMade. Looks like a decent partnership program that requires you to purchase with registered AMEX cards to save dough. NOTE - From what I can tell, the purchase price will be at full price, then the savings are credited to the card within 2 billing cycles. Retail redemption section of the T&C's posted below, but read full T&C's on their site so you know what you're signing up for. Must be a card issued directly from American Express. See all eligible cards by clicking here.

Redemption/Program details taken from site:
To redeem Merchant Offers, you must follow the redemption instructions included on the website or provided in the email. You may register only one card in the program. The Eligible Card that you register for the service shall be known as the “Registered Card.” To receive a given Merchant Offer, your purchase must be charged in full to your Registered Card. Each Merchant Offer is only valid during the times and on the conditions specified for each such offer. Your savings, the amount of the Merchant Offer, will be credited to your Registered Card account. The Merchant Offer may not be credited to your Eligible Card account until up to 2 billing cycles from the date of your purchase. If you charge your purchase to a Registered Card account that accrues finance charges, the balance upon which finance charges are assessed will include the gross amount of your purchase and you will be responsible to pay amounts due as provided in the terms of your Cardmember agreement. If your Registered Card account is a charge card account on which you have activated a flexible payment feature (e.g., ExPO), the gross amount of your purchase will be charged to the flexible payment feature if it is eligible for that treatment, while the Merchant Offer may be credited to the due in full balance of your charge card account. In this case, finance charges will accrue on the flexible payment feature balance until that balance is paid in full.

Basic Terms & Conditions and Card Eligibility

You must be "invited" to enroll. Neither of my cards (which are on eligible list) are being accepted. Called CSR, told them I saw program mentioned at AMEX.com, they confirmed "you must have received an e-mail invitation in order to enroll." Acted innocent, expressed astonishment that 20+ years of membership with monthly usage somehow didn't "qualify" me -- no go. CSR checked my e-mail addy and it "wasn't in the system" for TM program. Fie on them!

nice post and easy sign up

noticed 8% off first purchase at Circuit City after I enrolled

What does premium benefits give one - and after clicking on the premium link it just gives "coming soon". Does this mean I signed up?

Was reading the term and agreement to see if there is a catch,

Thought it might help other people.

Do you know if the 8% off is combinable with the 10% off coupon from AAA? Or would they reject that?

Just signed up. Thanks OP!

signed up for this! Thanks OP!

Does anyone know if you can use this and any other card registered programs (upromise/idine/etc) with the same card?

Can someone provide the details for the "up to 15% off for Lenovo"? What kind of purchase will get 15%? Does all purchases get some % off?

Just signed up..

Curious will this negate my HHonors bonus anyone know?

5% off $750-$999, 8% off $1k-$1249, 12% off $1250-1499, 15% off 1500+. Coupled with the Lenovo sale going on right now, and I'm actually pretty tempted. I wonder if this works with EPP too. The Tailor Made stuff seems to rely on AMEX processing transaction information rather than having to click through a web site link. So seems like should be able to double dip with FatCash too? (another 3.5%)

%10 for target? Seems hot

Is this click thru style like FatCash? Or are they just looking at transactions and applying credits?

I have two additional cardmembers under my Blue Cash, will they qualify?

And anyone know if Target B&M counts too, or just online?

yeah but with target card you get those 10% off all the time and they are good all day instant $$ off.

those are tied to your specific target card so no AMEX.

I think I could get 10% off only the first day with Target Visa, how to get 10% all the time? Thanks.

Wish I could get a definitive answer on that, too. I've been looking through the Tailormade website and nothing specific is mentioned except, "To redeem Merchant Offers, you must follow the redemption instructions included on the website or provided in the email." That doesn't say you must click through Tailormade's site, however.
Looks like a call to Tailormade may be in order.

I just signed up and didn't see Target listed as valid merchant. Also I notice at least for some merchant discount is valid one time only (e.g. One Step Ahead)...

So read carefully before you spend.....

This program looks very similar to the one offered through my employer by another vendor.

Does anyone know if it is still available for Lenovo?

Isn't that a list of ALL AMEX cards? Are there any AMEX cards (issued by AMEX) that are not eligible?

TIA

Sure - small business (OPEN) cards aren't eligible - if you look at actual T&C, or at least the first post, you'll have an idea of what cards are excluded

ditto!

I just registered my platinum card w/o an invite. For those with questions about Target, here is what comes up (not sure if you HAVE to click through their site, or just use the registered AMEX card):

Save 10% when you shop all of your favorite brands at Target.com.

Expect More. Pay Less. Shop Target.com.

Offer is redeemable online only and cannot be combined with any other offers. Offer is only valid to a maximum discount of $50. Offer not applicable to GiftCards, e-GiftCards or gift wrap. May not be combined with other promotional offers or applied to previous orders. Offer available for Target.com orders only and does not apply to partner businesses, personalized gifts, Peg Prego, Bose electronics or Amazon.com product purchases. Offer not available using 1-Click ordering online. 1-Click is a registered trademark of Amazon.com, Inc.

Offers will not apply to purchases made through alternate payment options such as Pay Pal, Google Checkout or Amazon 1-Click.

looks like only can register one card????

jerry2003 said: looks like only can register one card????

Yeah. I emailed them about adding my other cards, and they said it was only available for targeted cards, which I guess implies 1 per tailormade ID. Of course, as I mentioned before, my card was not targeted, but still managed to register. If someone is inclined, they could try to make multiple IDs (1 per card, or something).

I rarely read any marketing emails, so I am not sure if I was targeted. I registered my Hilton card, my frequent use card. Of course it would be nice if I can register my other personal card. I know OPEN small biz cards are NOT eligible, so I would even not bother to try (biz gold and plat cash from last winter's promo).

I am not sure if one can register another ID by using another email. May try later.

edit:
used another email to register another card, just try to see what happens!
now, after register, even you log out and log in again with another email, the cookie still remembers your previous login...
so have to clear cookie between log in to see different accounts

will see what happens (if they will cancel one of my registration, etc)

Man, if I only saw this before. I could have saved $100 on my Kaplan GMAT prep course...

89transam said: %10 for target? Seems hot

if you click through, says online order only -- so looks like target B&M purchases are not eligible

I contacted CSR by online msg. here is what I got:

my question:
For those online shopping offers, do I have to click through the TailorMade link to receive the discount?

response:
No, as long as you order from either the TailorMade link or through the
merchant site/store, you should recieve the offer savings (discounts).
If you have any questions, please contact us back and we will assist
you and provide verification.

Hey Jerry,
Thanks for the info. Tailormade seems to be a great deal IMHO.

sst36 said: Hey Jerry,

you very welcome. but seems not many major stores I shop regularly....

Target is for online only (as seems to be)... I am not sure if you can combine this tailormade 10% with AAA 10% on Target.com, which would give 19% off

Skipping 25 Messages...
FYI... I've had mixed success with the Tailormade program... for a number of smaller chargers on ongoing offers (mywinesdirect, backcountry, etc.) the program has worked well and all credits have been received.

However, for one of the $500 off Dell offers, it took me near 2 1/2 months and dozens of phone calls and emails to resolve the issue. Basically, I had to resort to not paying any of my AMEX bills (I have 5 cards with about $5k outstanding) to get them to finally take ownership and fix the issue.
