I thought I'd share this with the members of FW, since only a bit more than a week left before taxes are due. Hopefully it'll help someone, as I know importing trades was the main reason I was putting off doing taxes for so long.

Anyway, here's the post: http://beerpla.net/2008/04/05/tax-season-how-to-properly-import-trades-from-scottrade-and-interactivebrokers/

Useful, thanks OP.

Any tips on how to import data from Zecco? I have 8 days left.

thanks for the hint-late for me but good info to know for next year. I auto-imported my data from scottrade and about had a heart attack for a second when my tax bill increased by 20 grand since it imports them as 'free' for their cost...so I had to manually input all my purchase costs...

someone wrote a free TXF generator:
for Interactivebrokers, you can just copy the transaction which saves you $5

Great find! I've reimported my data using the tool above and it matched what I got with investotek.

If anyone is still interested, you can import Zecco data (into TurboTax at least). You have to select Penson Financial Services as the institution and have your Zecco account number and social security number ready. It asks for the login information which is:

Username: "07-Acct#" (dash is needed, no spaces)
Password: "SSN#" (no dashes)

I found this from a thread on Zecco forums in case anyone is interested: Zecco forum thread.
