"More than 2 million pairs of eclipse glasses are being distributed for free at public libraries throughout the U.S. for the rare total solar eclipse in August. The sun, moon and Earth will align in a rare event that's being called the Great American Eclipse. The eclipse will cross the U.S. on Aug. 21, 2017 and will begin in Oregon at 10:15 a.m. local time (1:15 p.m. EST). The eclipse's path of totality will cut a 60-mile wide arc across the country and end in South Carolina about an hour and a half later."
