I got screwed out of $2 on the Coke deal, not sure if I did something wrong (my first time using electronic ECB).

I had the $2 app-only coupon and pushed it to my card. It's still there.

I bought 3 cases of Coke and a couple of others things, and redeemed $12 in ECB. Paid the balance of $1.51 or so with Visa.

But the $2 coupon is still in my account, and it didn't show on the receipt! Did I do something wrong? It didn't seem like I had to ask the guy or anything.

Any easy way to fix? I assume if I just return the Coke I'll lose the ECB I redeemed.

Also, the Gevalia is a great deal at 2/$6 AECB. I bought 2 today. I can't figure out whether I got the ECB or not, I'm finding the website confusing. I've attached a screen capture, did I get the $6?

Thanks!

appears that you did and it is loaded to your card. just use it before it expires.

as for the Coke, you can return it, have them put it on a mdse credit, and try buying it again. I don't use the app, so no idea what the issue is why the Q didn't come off or if there's something special you have to do.

Thank you, do you mean return the Coke with a receipt but get store credit for the full $10.60? My worry was they'd only give me the buck or so I actually paid out of pocket, the same way coupons are gone even if you return the item.

I think I used an app-only coupon back in April and it worked fine. It looked like I had to use the app to "send the coupon to my card" and then he just scanned my keytag after that, rather than asking for the app.

Not sure I like these electronic ECBs, I guess I could get them printed if I turn of eReceipts? I'm getting both emailed and paper receipts, and I do like having the email, but it's easier to make decisions when I'm holding physical vouchers in my hand. Guess I'm old (not a guess really ).

Yes return with your receipt. Explain what happened. They will give you $1.51 back on Visa and rest on Money Card. Most cashier knows this sometime they don't. Then purchase them again with your app coupon. Yes looks like to got the Gevalia $6 ECB, it's loaded on your card. Did you go paperless? All your ECB & Receipts will be in your account. This is what happens with paperless. I never go paperless.

I agree the deals this week is lame after Black Friday. Few that stands out:

$2 ECB wyb Beauty 360 lip balm $2.99 Limit 2
$2 ECB wyb (3) American Greeting Cards Limit 1 *Regional*
$2/3 American Greeting , $3/3 Hallmark cards IP
$1.50 ECB wyb Crest Pro-Health mouthwash 250 ml $3.79 Limit 2
$1.50/1 Crest mouthwash 11/27 PG

I went "both" (paperless and emailed). I get a paper receipt but I guess no ECB form at the bottom. I like to be able to check right there in the store, and at the same time have an email. I'm used to hit at Home Depot but they don't have a Rewards program to worry about. If I'd bought without the ECB (and no other purchase) I would probably have known right away they were asking for $10.60 and not $8.48, but at some point you have to trust them. Still nothing could be worse that our experiences with Kmart SYW last year!

Thanks again!

Just noticed the $1 off butter cookies coupon on the single sheet of coupons found in stores.
Cookies are 2/$6 or $3.79 ea this week.
Wondering if the $1 grocery and $1 cookie coupons will stack.
Best scenario is if your store will allow 2 of each coupon per transaction-- would make for free cookies.
If only one set of coupons then 79˘ which while not free isn't bad.

agree on not going paperless.

A few pitfalls and concerns with it:

Sometimes the extra bucks don't print on an offer like they are supposed to. To wait til you get home and check your account/e-mail receipt can be a disaster. Always best to address those problems at time of purchase while you are physically at the store.

Another HUGE issue with the digital e-mail receipts, you can't roll your extra bucks that easily unless there's a way to use them off your app on the same visit. Often times, rather than have a huge OOP, I'll buy one thing to get the extra bucks, then spend that extra bucks on another extra bucks or deal offer ON THE SAME VISIT. again, having to go home and come back another day to accomplish this is a royal pain.

Finally,  even the concept of no paper receipt can be an issue. No way to reconcile what you were actually charged, if sale prices rang up properly, if all your coupons were applied properly, etc.  also the limits of offers prints on the paper receipt, and that's how you know if you maxed out or not. Often times an advertised LIMIT 1 offer, turns out to be Limit 2 which you don't discover until your receipt is printed, allowing you to grab another free item same visit (recent case in point, the Green Giant Vegetables last week)

DO NOT GO DIGITAL AT CVS!

what's wrong doing both (paperless and emailed)?

rated:
Doing both is what I did (like Home Depot). The downside I've encountered with this is no ECB printing on the paper receipt, in fact it just says that you've reached the limit (assuming you just bought the limit). How to reconcile whether it means "you just bought the limit of 1" vs "we mistakenly think you already bought 1" I have no idea.

I do wonder if they post fast enough to roll to the next purchase right there. Presumably not necessarily to the app, just internally so the cashier can seem them. While I take MISTERCHEAP's points, I can do most of those things if there's an emailed receipt fast enough.  I know with HD I've got the emailed receipt by the time I get to the car, I wonder if my app would be updated immediately. And in fact it doesn't even have to get to the app AFAIK (specifically for rolling ECBs), since the cashier seemed to have a list of my existing ECBs (from the day before, i.e. Sat). So potentially I could buy the coffee (2/$12-$6ECB) and pay up, then immediately buy (say) 3 Cokes (3/$8) and redeem my ECBs as long as they show up on his screen even if they're not in my app yet. No audit trail for sure.

I'm planning to turn off the emailed receipts and just have paper. Hopefully then I'll have physical ECBs (though a couple of years ago I did have trouble because the printer screwed up and cut off a bunch of info down the right side - emailed receipts would have helped there ).

nothing, not sure how the ECB's work though, one may be a 'dummy" ecb.   Not sure CVS gives you the option for both, thought it was A or B, but not A and B.

rated:
On my first purchase, the cashier asked if wanted paper or emailed receipt. I asked if I could have both and she said sure (though it felt like it wasn't a common request). Had to tell her my email address but it's stayed on file.

Attached is what a register receipt looks like when you select both paper and emailed. I did get the $6 ECB (according to this thread). But the only indication on the register receipt is that I've reached the limit of 1.

[Sorry, to be clear that's the bottom of the receipt where the ECB would be, of course there is a whole receipt higher up.]
