I just got back from our local BK. Someone had left a BK expired coupon on the counter, so I picked it up. I was going to throw it away, but went ahead and placed my order. The cashier picked it up and loudly announced, "YOU can't use this coupon, it's EXPIRED !!" The manager was behind her, quietly made her step to the side and said, "Oh, yes she can". I asked the manager if the accepting of expired coupons came from corporate. She named some company (I suppose the one that oversees our local Burger Kings), and said, "YES, they do."

I am going to write to our local BK corporate, just in case. Let me know what yall find out. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border=0>

I tried to email BK and got this :

Communication with Burger King Corporation is not accepted via e-mail.

So, I phoned the corporate headquarters and they said it must be a regional thing, or perhaps just a local store thing. They said some managers DO accept expired coupons, just to satisfy customers, so, call your local Burger King to find out !

I don't think Burger King employees even look at the coupons half of the time. The other half of the times they forget to take them. I've went several times through the drive-through and they always forget to take the coupons, but I still get the discount. I'll let ya'll know if mine work for lunch today.

Isn't this coupon fraud by not giving the coupon? This is what raises the price for the rest of us.

I didn't say I did it on purpose, but it has happened. Next time I'll drive back across town to give them the coupon, after I've realized it.

Our local Burger King has a big sign on their Drive-thru that says "We do not take ANY Burger King coupons" How's that for customer service?!

There's a phone number to call if you have any questions about it (I'm sure so the employees don't have to deal with the whining). I've thought about calling, but haven't yet. I'm sure I'll get the "at participating Burger Kings" line...

Our Chic-fil-a does take expireds (even a year old). They don't even look at the dates. They are definitely the most customer friendly fast food restaurant I've ever seen.

If the restraunt is company owned they will take the coupons but some independantly owned franchises wont take BK coupons.

The last batch of BK coupons I got sucked as you couldn't use more than one at a time.

Our BK won't take anything expired. They will take some, but not others (ie from coupon books from charity promotions, the Entertainment Book, etc.). It's definitely YMMV.

As NicksMom said, our Chic Fil A takes anything. Even a year+ old. And if there are 3 of you to an order, they'll take 3 coupons -- you don't even have to "break up" and order separately! Wonderful!

I wish I could find a BK that would just accept all unexpired coupons, let alone go to the extreme CFA does!

I work at Burger King on weekends. I work at a store owned by the company, and we don't take expired coupons, that is a YMMV and it's possibly only done by franchise stores. Franchise stores reserve the right to not take coupons if they don't want to. Also you can use more than one coupon at a time it's just that we have to break it down into seperate orders. The coupon booklets that have been circulating here in Central FL expired on 6-16-04, and they were very popular but very misunderstood because some people couldn't understand about making a qualifying purchase beforehand, but from my experience it wasnt too bad.

Chic Fil A seems to be a very generous company. They sent our company 350 coupons. Buy a drink and fries get a sandwich free. I distributed them at work yesterday. Unfortunately they are for a specific branch...
