INTRODUCTION - NEW AMEX TWITTER PROMOTION

Some very hot deals here. Many set to expire 3/31 and 4/30.

I've moved instructions and promotional hashtags to the wiki summary in the next message since I'm not sure how long this is going to go on, and new hashtag offers are being added and deleted from time to time.

Thanks for the green everyone.

Cool "real time" statistics about the AM3X promotion can be found here: http://brandng.visibli.com/share/HyVzyR

McSide-salad and McApples?

So basically this is envaulted, but without envaulted and the handful of other card issuers they supported?

except AMEX already has your transaction data...

we have yet to confirm that

Some confirmation of eligibility/enrollment in each offer would be nice.

Just went. $7 purchase. Come on AMEX.

AMEX emailed me!

"You Synced. You Tweeted. You Saved.

Congratulations! By using your synced American Express Card ending in XXXXX, you
saved $5.00 on your purchase at McDonalds. Expect a statement credit in 3-5 days.

Be sure to visit American Express on Twitter to find more exclusive Cardmember offers!"

AMEX is not a startup. They will pay. Their CS reps can hand out thousands of MR points like candy; thinking that they will screw you out of $5 is...kinda unlikely.

Which is probably why they werent paying envaulted for it. Go figure.

Tweet these two lists and it'll be everything:

#Amex1800flowers #AmexMcDonalds #AmexHM #AmexGulfOil #AmexC21stores #AmexWholefoods #AmexSeamless10 #AmexVirginAmer

#AmexFedEx #AmexCheesecake #AmexSportsAuth #AmexBestBuy #AmexDell

So it seems like once you are registered, you are guaranteed to get it, right? No need to run out and buy a $5 gift certificate at McDonalds to get the promotion before other people use it up.

From AMEX Site FAQ:

Can I Tweet multiple special #hashtags within the same Tweet?
Yes. If you Tweet multiple special offer #hashtags within the same Tweet, you will be enrolled in all corresponding offers. Our notification handle will send you an @reply message for each valid offer to confirm enrollment. If you have not already completed the sync process, you will first receive a notification with a link to connect your AMEX Card with Twitter. Once you sync your Card and connect, you will be enrolled into any eligible offers.

---------------

In Twitter, click the @Connect at the top of the page when you are logged in. You should see replies to you (@YourUserName) confirming. I got a confirm on all of them.

can you delete the tweet right after?

I just signed up for twitter and I don't know if I am doing it correctly. So if I see in my sent tweets the codes listed is this good enough? I don't see any email confirmation from twitter or AMEX.

I dont know - it says you'll get a response as confirmation, but I didnt get anything either.

I wonder how much twitter is paying AMEX for this exclusive; atleast the Small Business Saturday promo you could participate directly with AMEX, instead of going through the "social media" BS.

AMEX is in with Foursquare, FB and now twitter. 2011 Small Business Sat. had a facebook signup page.

I got replies from AMEX on Twitter..

@my_id thx for enrolling in #AmexCheesecake offer. Spend w/ synced Card & receive credit. See terms: aexp.co/5Lp

In fact somehow they saw my tweets twice because I got a message saying that I was already enrolled as well as the one saying that I was enrolled, for each offer.

On Twitter, click on the @Connect link at the top of the page and you should see them. In my case, I get them sent to my phone via text message so I got them that way.

NM, reply was almost instant, it is in the "interactions" tab, listed as a "@" next to the home tab on the top of the page. You can tell how much I use Twitter.

Synced with McD earlier today, made the purchase and got an email nearly instantly saying to watch for a $5 statement credit.

Can you sync more than one AMEX card on the same Twitter account?

Neidman said:   Can you sync more than one AMEX card on the same Twitter account?

I think you would have to use different Twitter accounts.

is AMEX going to 1099 these?

So I guess I can go to WholeFoods & buy a $100 gift card correct to qualify & get $20 statement credit.

oradbatic said:   So I guess I can go to WholeFoods & buy a $100 gift card correct to qualify & get $20 statement credit.

Yep -- or at least the last $10 credit for $50 Wholefoods purchase via foursquare sync worked that way (bought a $50 gc, received a $10 statement credit).

spent $25.08 @ Gulf on the way home, already got email about $5 credit.

what does "twitter #AmexMcDonalds" mean?
put "#AmexMcDonalds" in the "compose new twitter" input field, then click "twitter" button?
No idea how it works.

It means tweet anything you want as long as it includes that exact hashtag.

Apparently this doesn't work with a card also used for the AMEX Foursquare rebates.

It says quantity limited for each offer. Is there any way to know when they're all gone (ie will they pull the offer from the website)?

DiMAn0684 said:   spent $25.08 @ Gulf on the way home, already got email about $5 credit.

Did you pay inside or did pay at the pump work?

The top line of the deal's T&C states "...get $5 back one time on your next in store purchase of $25 or more...", but later states "This offer is valid for Gas purchases only." Just curious to see which pay points actually work.

Used two cards of two family members at McD's. Received email confirmations right away.

oradbatic said:   So I guess I can go to WholeFoods & buy a $100 gift card correct to qualify & get $20 statement credit.

Actually you need spend only $75.

If you have the Blue Cash Preferred which gives 6% rebates on grocery stores, this is an even better deal. However, in their terms they state "Please note that your ability to earn other types of rewards - such as Membership Rewards - based on spending, may be based, in the case of Eligible Transactions, on the Charge after any statement credits have been applied." Thus, you may get your 6% on only $55 in spending if you spend exactly $75.

Whole Food terms states "Limit one statement credit per Cardmember. Registration is limited."

Since my wife is an authorized user, are she and I each "Cardmembers."?

She was able to register her card to her twitter account and received an E-mail that the card was synched.

I notice the same language is used for the McDonalds offer, so it may be possible to use both cards there and see what happens.
