It's 1.5ghz when you're browsing the web. If you're doing anything processor intensive, it jumps to 2.4ghz. IMO, listing it as 1.5ghz is even more misleading than listing it at 2.4ghz. If you need the extra power, it's there for you. And if you're that concerned, you can set it with a utility to always run at 2.4ghz. The only reason it's set at 1.5ghz by default is to conserve battery life.
