Received a flyer in the mail from Nissan with this promo. It looks to be national as it's not localized for a specific dealership. It says "Visit ChooseNissan.com for the EV certified Nissan dealer nearest you."

Also in the flyer is a promo for a $1000 home charger allowance with the purchase of a Leaf.

Additionally Nissan includes 10 days of free rentals for Leaf purchasers (see flyer text below).

FYI speculation on the 2013 Leaf is that it will get a 25% range boost in cold weather and 6.6kW charger. The latter will cut charge time in half. Maybe they're trying to clear out the 2012 models, especially in light of the well publicized sales shortfalls.

Please let's not devolve the discussion into whether the Leaf is price worthy. It makes sense for some people and doesn't for others.

Flyer said: New 2012 Nissan LEAF SV
$289 per month
39 month lease
$2999 initial payment
- OR -------
$35,200 MSRP
-$7500 Federal Tax Credit
-> As low as $27,700

If you've been thinking about putting the all-electric, no emmissions Nisaan LEAF in your garage, we have great news! Just announced savings allow you to drive home a LEAF for less than you might imagine.

Plus log on to http://www.nissanusa.com/leaf-electric-car/ev-incentives to find out if your state offers even more tax savings or credits when you lease or purchase a new 2012 Nissan LEAF this year. (their bolding, not mine)

And now when you purchase or lease a new Nissan LEAF by September 4, 2012, we'll also include a $1000 Home Charger Allowance toward your vehicle's home charging station.

As a new LEAF driver, you can rent a standard-powered Nissan vehicle complimentary for up to 10 days with our "Go the Distance" no-charge rental program. While the LEAF's range fits the daily driving distance of most US drivers, there may be a time you need additional range -- such as a vacation. We make it easy for you to travel wherever you need to go.

Don't wait to take advantage of these great LEAF offers! We look forward to seeing you by September 4, 2012.

where does it state anything about a $50 Amazon GC. And sorry...if the taxpayer has to subsidize interest in a vehicle...run; don't walk away!

Blow up the flyer and you will see that it says,
"Test drive a new Nissan LEAF at your EV Certified Nissan dealer by Sept 4, 2012 and we'll send you a $50 Amazon.com Gift Card."

with the fine print of...
"To receive your gift card you must bring this original invitation and take a test drive in a new and unused 2012 Nissan LEAF by 9/4/2012 at a participating Nissan dealer. Must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver's license and the named recipient of the mail piece with proof of address. Test drive and dealer validation required. Test drive lasts approximately 15 minutes. Duplicates or mechanical reproductions will not be accepted." etc.

So how is this a Hot Deal when none of us have the flyer to get in on the deal and there's no info on how to get flyer?

Okay..blew up flyer...text reads verbatim
"To receive your gift card you must bring in this original invitation and take a test drive in a new and unused 2012 Nissan Leaf by 9/4/2012 at a participating Nissan dealer. Must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver's license and the named recipient of the mail piece...
Lucy...somebody's got some explaining to do...

I contacted Nissan customer support and asked about the flyer. They said they'll send it upon request after directing you to create an account.

Thank you ThrifyMember for contacting Nissan to ask about the flyer. Go green!
How does one go about creating an account? I signed up for LEAFmail down at the bottom of their website but don't think this constitutes "creating an account."

Let us know ThriftyMember on how to create the account.

HI All

Bommarito Nissan has an advertisement in todays Stlouis Post Dispatch newspaper. They have a Nissan Leaf 2012 lease special for 189 per month with no money down. 24 months and 12,000 miles per year. Sounded like a good deal if you have a garage. The leaf only gets 100 miles on a charge. The charger is another 2000 or so bucks.

Really wish people would learn how to write thread titles better. Key elements like, "YMMV" and "mailer required" just have to be there. Sigh.

According to customer support, signing up for the mailing list should suffice. Visit this link and go to the bottom-right of the page. There's cluster of icons - email, twitter, fb, g+... click the email icon and enter your info.

However since there may be a delay in the paper mailing, the customer service rep suggested contacting the dealer directly about the $50 Amazom GV promo. Apparently the original flyer isn't a requirement and may be at the discretion of the dealership.

Switching gears a little, any thoughts on the $18x/mo 24 mo lease on the 2012 Leaf? (with 0 down). Linky or LInky

Yes, my thought is to post this in the proper forum instead of hijacking this defunct thread.
