The cost of helium, and the frequency that you need to refill, queers this deal.

Says it stays inflated for weeks. My mylar balloons have never stayed floating for more than a few days. Any one have one of these? OneStepAhead said: The cost of helium, and the frequency that you need to refill, queers this deal.

Mine absolutely stayed inflated for weeks, no problem. There's a compartment on the mechanical bit under the shark that you put some putty in to achieve neutral buoyancy--you may have to take out a little every few days/once a week or so, as the helium escapes and less weight is needed. Of course this was in Phoenix during the summer--I wouldn't be surprised if your experience varies based on temperature, humidity, altitude, etc. But I can't imagine it would differ drastically.

Please don't waste helium on these kinds of toys or balloons. Helium is a finite resource and needs to be saved for scientific research, MRI machines and CPU production.
