Looks like a decent deal for a starter computer for your kids maybe ... for $99, who could go wrong?

On that note, any idea what the idle power draw on this system is?

could make a nice starter PC.

HP DC5700

It is a well made business type PC this has a 240Watt power supply and is quite compact -- small form factor which limits what you can add on to it.

I bought the 2.8 GHz Core 2 duo version for home use, increased RAM to 8GB and it runs pretty well with Windows 7 for my needs.

We had thousands of these at work on 24/7. Non standard shaped powersupply but they rarely failed. Do run hot and fan can be loud but good mobo. top failure was HP dvdrw no idea why, sata easy to change.

case is strong enough to stand on so fine kid pc.
