1050 steel is NOT 'corrosion resistant'. Other than that, it's a good steel for impact cutting tools like hatchets and machetes.

Gerber's "7Cr17Mo" is a fairly decent knife steel.

All in all, it looks like $20ea is a good price for the two blades in question.
