There are quite a few of these refurb laptops on Lenovo Outlet now. Much better quality than the low-end Toshibas, plus the MATTE screen that is more common on the business class laptops. Lenovo factory refurbs are as good as new.

Do you have personal experience with these refurbs OP? I am looking for a laptop as a gift for a high school student. There is a G500 scratch & dent for about $329 that looks really good but I've got a concern over giving it as a gift. Thank You.

It looks like new except there's a sticker label at the bottom that says "refurbished". I've heard "scratch & dent" can be a hit or miss cosmetically. So I can only recommend refurbs for gifts.
