I have this http://www.amazon.com/ELM327-Wireless-Diagnostic-Scanner-Smartph...
which I use in conjunction with app Torque Pro to get codes.

Will this Reader provide any additional data than i already get?

If you want more data than you see in Torque, just download different apps and you can switch between them if you need to see that additional info. Even if it's just a free trial, you can at least see what parameters the app will read.

Lots of scanners can't read Asian braking system codes, and it doesn't look like the one listed in this deal does either, so chances are it won't read anything else than you can already get from your dongle.

More or less, the dongles that work with smartphones read all the data that the computer is putting out, but the differences are the sampling rate and protocols that the dongle can understand.

This would be a good reader if you don't have a smartphone, or just want to leave one in the glove box. I wouldn't pay $34.99 for that though. You can probably find a comparable for maybe $20.

I bought this one https://www.amazon.com/Scanner-Kitbest-Bluetooth-Diagnostic-Adap... that works great and help me save a lot of money, I do not need to visit the mechanic
