Why does Staples have a serious aversion to offering monitors with HDMI inputs? Are they saving and therefore making an extra $5 a monitor by not paying the HDMI licensing?

If you buy a monitor in 2016, it should have HDMI.

NO HDMI == NO DEAL!

Edit: Not to mention, modern motherboards and even video cards are starting to drop VGA. DVI will be next.

$2 adapter does the trick for any of the digital video interfaces. No speakers, no need for hdmi over dvi or dp. All compatible. Had a link that needs approval so apologize is this turns into a double post.

It's not a Staples issue, the manufacturers seem to be making them this way now at this price point.
