Be aware that although the Sears Website indicates there is an Auto OFF, which is important to me. It did NOT have that function mentioned in the manual and it has not turned off after 30 minutes. So if it does turn off automatically at some point, it should turn off after 3-5 minutes of non use or it is a useless feature.

  Guaranteed to do just that when the batteries die.  No "if" to worry about!
