Is it carrier locked or can it be used on ringplus?

How can this be unlocked? Also, would this work with an AT&T MVNO?

Aren't all Verizon phones required to be SIM unlocked? Have it in my cart...also have T-Mobile. Would be a good little backup/toy...

Edit: nevermind, looks like it's still locked to Verizon. Somehow, they managed to skirt the requirement to have all LTE phones e SIM unlocked, despite the FCC ordering otherwise. Typical Verizon at work here.

Pass.

This is pure CDMA phone for voice and LTE for data. Even we put other carrier sim, it wont work for Voice may be data only.

From everything I've read this is a very crippled phone that only works on Verizon or a Verizon MVNO. It can be unlocked to work on a Verizon MVNOs like Tracfone but you need an unlock code from a vendor. However, if you plan to buy this phone for use on an MVNO make sure the IMEI does not start with 99. Those CANNOT be unlocked. Even then you have to use an already active SIM from another Verizon MVNO phone in order to get it to work. Else use it on Verizon Prepaid.

Verizon does not use SIM so they obviously cannot do anything "in spite of" a law regarding SIM cards. Verizon is CDMA.

What? Every Verizon prepaid LTE phone I have has a SIM. I own 3 of them.

That used to be true but with LTE etc the lines between GSM and CDMA has blurred.

Because very few bought it.

Not on your own. Best way from what I've read is to get CS/Verizon store/BB store to do a hardware swap for you. See this Reddit thread about issues with prepaid phones and post paid use: https://m.reddit.com/r/verizon/comments/40tsbo/changes_to_4g_pre...
