WalMart has Royal Oak Lump Charcoal 17.63lbs for $9.  This is at Renton WalMart, WA.

I'm surprised people like this stuff. I avoid it whenever possible. Burns hot, quick, and unevenly.

Indeed, according to those rankings it is "Highly Recommended". My personal experiences, however, do not agree with those rankings. I mean, we're talking about charcoal here so just give it a try; maybe you'll like it. It will still cook your food, you just might have to add more charcoal along the way.
