Can it also dual boot into Windows 10 and use it as a normal PC when not gaming?

It should be able to, but you'd have to get your own copy of Win10 (+license) and set up the dual-boot yourself.

Not sure why you'd want to dual-boot. The SteamOS is horrendous and doesn't offer any advantage over, let's say, Win10. Just create a bootable USB image of your geniunie windows 10 disc and completely format and rewrite the OS on this system. The drivers and Alienware Control Center works perfectly fine on Windows 10. Also, you can pull 4 screws and change out the HD to an SSD.

In terms of the GPU, I've found 2 sites that refer to it as "a custom Nvidia graphics chip that closely matches the performance of the mainstream GeForce 860M card".

The GPU in this is basically an 860m, but it can cause problems because it's officially labelled in Windows as something like "Nvidia GeForce GPU" or something generic, so games that pre-generate detail settings based on what GPU is installed often get tripped up. Just means that sometimes you need to go into the graphics settings yourself.

Otherwise, this GPU is getting long in the tooth. 1080p@60fps is not easy to get in big-budget modern games now. The new Alienware Alpha's upgraded GPU option (which is more expensive than this, obviously) has a 960 desktop GPU which is quite a bit more capable.
